Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Pipefitter :
- Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings.
- Ability to perceive details in technical diagrams and physical layouts.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities for Pipefitter :
- Follow blueprints and use hand tools and shop machinery to complete pipe installations.
- Cut and bore holes in bulkheads and decks for the installation of piping systems.
- Cut, thread, and install pipes and pipe fittings.
- Connect pipes to fixtures and test systems for leaks to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with a tacker/helper to perform precision work and troubleshoot installation problems.
- Accurately interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings.
