Job Description For Tank & Vessel Welders
Join Genesis Staffing as a Tank & Vessel Welder for long-term projects (up to 18+ months) across NC, VA, OK, TX, FL, GA, IL, and Pascagoula, MS. to support major shutdown and turnaround maintenance services across several oilfield sites. Must have 3+ years of experience in FCAW/SMAW welding and tank construction. Earn $34.50/hour plus $100–$150/day per diem, working 10-hour shifts, 7 days/week
Responsibilities For Tank & Vessel Welders
- Perform welding and grinding tasks as per detailed project specifications.
- Select the right equipment, plan welding layouts, and efficiently assemble materials.
- Produce quality welds and assist with fitting, preparation, and post-weld clean-up.
- Work closely with supervisors to resolve on-site issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Identify safety hazards, take immediate corrective actions, and follow safety protocols.
- Represent the company professionally, upholding its code of conduct and ethical standards.
- Ensure compliance with welding procedures, project specifications, and quality standards throughout the job.
Requirements For Tank & Vessel Welder
- At least 3 years of experience in tank construction or vessel welding.
- Must be able to pass FCAW and SMAW weld tests in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions.
- Experience welding 9% nickel steel is a major plus.
- Willing to work 10-hour shifts, 7 days a week on rotating projects that may last over a year.
- Must have a valid TWIC card and be able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Required to complete Basic Safety Council training and any site-specific safety courses.
- Must be able to travel and relocate from site to site across multiple states.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 60 lbs, working at heights, in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions.
- Must be clean-shaven if the site requires a respirator for safety.
